Dear Guest,

As we happily celebrate the first birthday of our Hidden Harbour B&B this July, we like to look back and thank all our wonderful guests who made the start so easy for us. We also invite those who didn't quite make it to us, to read our news and consider visiting us at another time.

We learnt a lot from you, we made many friends in this short period of time - but we never contacted many of you Inge & Jurgenafter your B&B stay. This will change now. Once in a while when there are interesting things to report, you will receive a newsletter from us. If you don't want to receive it, please feel free to unsubscibe below - but please, visit our B&B again!

Captain Vancouver discovered our Campbell River area and therefore you find the word discover or Discovery in many places here: we look down to the Discovery Passage (photo background), the largest hotel is the Discovery Inn, and so on.
When we started, I was brave enough to create our slogan "Discover our Hospitality" in all our marketing material. In marketing you want to make sure that the suit fits you, and reading all your wonderful comments, I realize that we lived up to our own expectations. We will keep the slogan, and we will continuously work on living up to your expectations:

Discover our Hospitality!

Please read on
Cheers, Inge & Jurgen

PS: Thanks Nir for sending us this photo. Nir just visited our B&B from Tel Aviv, Israel.

A lot has happened in one Year
Change is permanent

We started a year ago with our suite alone, which we now, after massive changes, proudly call "Discovery Suite" (sic!). Both rooms now have comfortable Queen size beds, the bathroom got a total makeover and the kitchenette is finally operational (see photos in our web site!). Now, with all the amenities outside (hot tub, BBQ, lawn games, garden....) the suite is the perfect "home" for a longer family vacation!

house 2009Upstairs we created the "Library Room" and the "Gallery room". Both rooms accommodate two guests each and share the renovated bathroom and our bright, modern and spacey living area and kitchen. See photos in our web site! You will also notice that the whole outside of our house was repainted last Fall. Don't miss us next time you're coming, it's now green ;--), and also our garden looks more beautiful than ever.

We listened to your comments and recommendations, and yes, we now have XL bathrobes, and yes, there are ice cubes in the new fridge... And many more little things which should make you feel even more home.

The breakfasts are becoming more diverse over time and bring us lots of favourable comments - as well as fun. We also thoroughly enjoyed to cook dinner with or for our guests.

Last but not least: For those of you who shared our excitement of becoming grandparents last year - Stella is now one year old minus 3 weeks, and the cutest little baby personality. She will visit us with her mom in August - Inge happy!

PS: Thank you Stella (another one) and Frank for sending us the house photo above. They visited us from Berlin, Germany

Campbell Riviera, eh!?
What do you think?

Somebody came up with this term "Campbell Riviera", and when you think about it after you visited our region - it's paradise, why not do some advertising for this fair city?

Look only at the header photo of Campbell River (partly, left), Quadra Island and the Discovery Islands. Chris Carter, whose photos on paper and canvas in nearly every size we sell in our own gallery, has more beautiful "Campbell Riviera" shots in his web site.

Email me if you are interested in buying one of his prints (very affordable canvas prints!) from us.

What to do in Campbell River
Today's feature: Marine Link Tours M.V. Aurora Explorer

Several of our B&B guests stayed with us, before or after a 4-5 days trip with the Aurora Explorer. All were ecxited about their "One of a Kind Journey into the Pacific Northwest's Inside Passage"

Marine Link Tours operates freight boat cruises on the landing craft M.V. Aurora Explorer,

with its season running from March through to the end of October. Up to 12 overnight-berthed passengers accompany the cargo vessel on her scheduled freight runs, allowing passengers to experience BC's "working coast" up close and personal. For more information please visit their web site!

Chris Carter (see article above) took this beautiful shot of the landing Aurora. We sell the prints!

Last but not Least
TripAdvisor is important for us!

We enjoy very much your comments in our guest book. Some of them from the 2008 season (our very first season) you find in our web site.

Two of our guests from the UK and the Netherlands were so kind and submitted positive reviews of our Hidden Harbour B&B in TripAdvisorTripAdvisor. This was relatively new for us and this really helps us a LOT! Please check and look at their submitted photos, too.

Kind request: Please, if you visited our B&B or are going to visit us soon, consider posting a review in TripAdvisor! Their motto: Get the truth, then go, it helps future travellers a lot, too!

And, please consider to forward this newsletter to travelling friends (bottom). They may sign up to receive this newsletter by emailing me.

In finishing, we would love to hear back from you, drop us an email, or better - visit us again!

 Sincerely,

Inge & Jurgen Kettler
